KARACHI: The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has decided to shift all the Super 4 matches of the Asia Cup 2023 to Hambantota as a long rain spell are expected in Colombo — where matches were scheduled to be held — for the next 15 days.

The decision was taken after closely looking at the weather forecast and the possibility of rain disturbing the matches.

If India beat Nepal on Monday then Pakistan vs India's Super Four clash will be played in Hambantota.

Not only that, a reserve day for the India-Pakistan encounter is also under consideration because their group-stage encounter was called off without a ball being bowled in the second innings.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) had already expressed their concerns to ACC who assured proper coordination.

According to BBC Weather forecast, thundery showers are expected in Colombo for the next 15 days.

It must be noted that the ACC is already under heavy criticism for organising Asia Cup matches in Sri Lanka knowing that it always rains there during this time of year.

These matches will be shifted to Hambantota:

Sept 10 - A1 vs A2 at 2:30 pm (PST)

Sept 12 - A2 vs B1 at 2:30 pm (PST)

Sept 14 - A1 vs B1 at 2:30 pm (PST)

Sept 15 - A2 vs B2 at 2:30 pm (PST)

Sept 17 - Final at 2:30 pm (PST)
