KARACHI: Pakistan is out of the race for a medal after losing against Iran 3-0 in the round of 12 match of the ongoing Asian Volleyball Championship on Wednesday in Urmia, Iran.

Iran registered their win with scores of 25-18, 25-15 and 25-13.

The match remained one-sided as Iran dominated the Green Shirts and recorded set wins with big margins.

After losing in the round of 12 match, Pakistan will now play for the seventh to ten position on August 25 in the play-offs against the winner of India vs Indonesia.

Had Pakistan won the match, they would have qualified for the semi-finals directly.

Earlier in Pakistan's second group game on Monday (August 21), they lost against Korea 3-1.

Korea won the match with scores of 26-28, 25-20, 32-30, and 25-22.

The game was a close one except for the second set, which Korea won by five points, the remaining sets were won with a close margin.

Meanwhile, on Sunday (August 19), Pakistan beat Bangladesh 3-0 in their opening game and went off to a flying start.
