Manchester United's manager Erik ten Hag has stated that his side laid the foundations of the way he wants to play at the club last season ahead of the 2023-24 season.
Ahead of the pre-season clash with German side Borussia Dortmund, Ten Hag appeared for a press conference with local media, answering questions about the upcoming match, his team, and the future.
During the media interaction, Erik also shed light on the team’s new signings in the shape of Andre Onana and Mason Mount.
"I think the difference is, with reference to last year, now we have the foundation with this squad," he responded.
"Because we built the foundation last season. So [we built] the squad, the way of play, and now we have to find the right players to fit in and to raise the bar.
"We succeeded with Andre Onana, we succeeded with Mason Mount and now we are looking for a striker."
Later in his press conference, Erik hoped that his squad will contribute to the Reds' ambitions of success next season, whether they be in the starting XI or on the bench.
The next match for Manchester United is the mouthwatering clash against Borussia Dortmund in Las Vegas tomorrow.
United finished in third place in the Premier League last season, behind champions Manchester City and second-placed Arsenal.
