Asian U16 Volleyball Championship: Pakistan qualify for super 8 round

Pakistan beat Mongolia 3-0 to qualify for the super eight round — PVF

Pakistan defeated Mongolia 3-0 in their second group game of the Asian U16 Volleyball Champions in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Monday.

Pakistan won the match with the scoreline of 25-9, 25-17 and 25-13.

The young athletes, including players Muhammad Anas, Awais Khan, Muhammad Hassan, and Talal Ahmed, showcased their remarkable skills on the court, impressing both fans and competitors alike.

"We are incredibly proud of our young athletes for their exceptional performance in today's match," said Chairman of the Pakistan Volleyball Federation, Ch. Muhammad Yaqoob. "Their skill, determination, and teamwork have been commendable, and we are excited to see their progress in the championship."

After a win over Mongolia, the Men in Green have qualified for the super 8 round of the tournament.

In the super 8 round, Pakistan is in a group with Australia, Thailand and Chinese Taipei.

It must be noted that with a win over Chinese Taipei in the first match, Pakistan will be given bonus points.

Earlier on Saturday (July 22), Pakistan defeated Chinese Taipei 3-0 in their opening match of the tournament with the scoreline of 25-15, 25-18 and 25-16.

It has to be mentioned that earlier this month, Iran beat Pakistan 3-2 to win the Central Asian U16 Volleyball Championship at home on Wednesday.

After an exciting contest, Iran won the final by the scores of 25-20, 25-27, 25-18, 21-25, and 15-11. The home side grabbed Gold after winning the final whereas Pakistan managed to get Silver.

"Talal Ahmad has been recognised as the best setter of the CAVA U-16 Volleyball Championship. His exceptional skills, precise sets, and strategic plays have been instrumental in the success of the team," said Pakistan Volleyball Federation.

"Muhtad Ali Shah has been recognised as the Best Spiker in the CAVA U-16 Volleyball Championship! His powerful spikes, agility, and exceptional attacking skills have made a significant impact on the team's performance."
