Inzamam-ul-Haq says Karachi is rich for producing great batters

Pakistan's former Test captain Inzamam-ul-Haq said Karachi's batting culture is so rich, having produced some world-class batters in the past. 

Inzamam is supervising Peshawar Zalmi's talent hunt programme in Sindh. On Friday, The trials took place in Karachi under the assistance of Inzamam, Kamran Akmal, Rashid Latif, and Mohammad Akram. 

Speaking to the media on this occasion, Inzamam said they have found really talented cricketers who will be looked after now under the umbrella of Peshawar Zalmi. 

"There is immense talent in Pakistan and Karachi has always been on top. Karachi's culture is very rich, as far as producing batters is concerned. We have got world-class batters from here including Hanif Mohammad, Javed Miandad, Younis Khan, Saeed Anwar and many more," he said. 

"I hope we will find more talented batters in this trial. Our aim is to facilitate selected players by providing them ample opportunities," he added.

As many as 10,000 cricketers from Sindh registered in the trials which will end tomorrow. Shortlisted cricketers will play a match on Sunday before finalising the final bunch of players. 

Earlier, Peshawar Zalmi conducted trials in different parts of the country. The franchise aims to find raw talent and polish them for national team.
