UFC veteran Kevin Lee has disclosed Khabib Nurmagomedov’s weakness saying he believes he could’ve taken advantage if the two had ever met.

Khabib, who established himself as one of the most successful and the greatest UFC fighter of all time, did not lose a single bout in his UFC career and retired in 2020 without ever tasting defeat.

Speaking to Aaron Bronsteter of TSN, Lee expressed some slight disappointment about missing his chance against Khabib Nurmagomedov.

“There was a few times where we would’ve fought. But yeah, had I beat Tony, had things been a little bit different, that would’ve been just a massive fight,” he said.

“I thought that his body was open. I thought that he stood very square. I thought that pressure forward style and kind of take it on the chin doesn’t lend well to shots to the body. And it would’ve opened up eventually for a head kick.”

Lee, who is set to mark his Octagon return this week against Rinat Fakhretdinov at UFC Vehas 75 this week, admitted that the conversation about a bout with the now-retired Khabib is of no use.

“I don’t necessarily want to talk about fighting Khabib ‘cause it’s kind of pointless. I’ll do it because it’s interesting, the fighting style. I love fighting so much, I love MMA, I love breaking down different fighters and what their attributes are, what they’re capable of.

“It’s interesting, but it’s pointless at the end of the day. He’s gone and it didn’t happen, so there’s no sense in focusing on the past.”

Khabib started his UFC career against Kamal Shalorus in January 2012 and remained unbeaten until his very last fight against Justin Gaethje at UFC 254 in October 2020.

The MMA star marked his name in UFC history with his 29-0-0 record. Known for his impeccable defense, Khabib was known for tiring out his opponents in the Octagon.
