India’s Jhulan Goswami, England’s Heather Knight and Eoin Morgan have become the latest cricketers to join the MCC’s World Cricket Committee ahead of the body's meeting at Lord's on Monday and Tuesday.

England’s legendary opener Alastair Cook left the committee earlier as he wants to concentrate on the final years of his playing career.

Mike Gatting, the committee's chairman welcomed the players in a statement.

"We are thrilled to welcome Jhulan, Heather and Eoin to the World Cricket Committee. These are three players who have excelled at the very top of the international game and their knowledge of how the elite level of cricket works will be an advantage to the committee," he said.

"It is also important that we are growing the female representation on the committee with the growth that women's cricket has enjoyed in recent years. Jhulan and Heather join Clare Connor and Suzie Bates who can all offer first-hand insight into the women's game."

Established in 2006, the MCC’s World Cricket Committee is an independent body consisting of current and former international cricket stars and umpires from all over the world.

Goswami retired from international cricket last year with her final appearance at Lord's in the ODI against England, where she was given a guard of honour.

The pacer enjoyed the beautiful game for over two decades, leaving her mark in the history books by taking over 300 wickets in white-ball cricket across 272 appearances, as well 44 wickets in 12 Test matches.

Meanwhile, Morgan, who served England Cricket Team in 379 matches, scored 10,859 runs in international cricket while Knight played 129 matches for England cricket as a middle-order batter where he scored 3589 runs at an average of 36.25.

Morgan also led the English cricket team in the ICC Cricket World 2019 which they won after defeating New Zealand in the final on boundary count after the Super-Over was tied as well at Lords.

Ben Stokes was the Player of the Match for his 84 off 98 as he remained not-out till the very end.
