When will Pakistan, India lock horns in World Cup 2023?

Pakistan will start their World Cup campaign on October 13

Pakistan and India will take on each other on October 15 during the ICC World Cup 2023, Indian media reported. 

The two arch-rivals were expected to meet in a high-clash contest at Narendra Modi Stadium, Ahmedabad. However, reports claimed that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) showed reservations about playing in the world's biggest stadium. 

The venue for Pakistan vs India contest hasn't been revealed so far. The green shirts are expected to play their matches in Hyderabad, Chennai, and Bengaluru as reported by Indian media. 

ICC World Cup 2023 will start with defending champions England taking on losing finalists New Zealand in the opening match on October 5 in Ahmedabad. 

India will start their campaign against Australia on October 8 in Chennai. Pakistan will play their first match against the qualifying team on October 13.

The final of the event will be played on November 19 at Narendra Modi Stadium. Indian media claimed that PCB has confirmed that they will be touring India to play World Cup this year. Also, PCB has agreed on playing the final in Ahmedabad in case of their team's qualification. 

As many as 10 teams will play in the mega event. Eight teams including host India, Pakistan, England, Australia, South Africa, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and New Zealand qualified directly for the tournament. Two teams from the qualification round will qualify for the main event. 

World Cup qualifying round, featuring host Zimbabwe, West Indies, Sri Lanka, The Netherlands, Scotland, Oman, Nepal, USA, UAE, Ireland, will take place in June this year.
