Pakistani captain Babar Azam's fans bashed former women's team captain Sana Mir after she analysed the match-winning performance of Fakhar Zaman after the second ODI against New Zealand.

Fakhar scored a magnificent hundred to help Pakistan win the second ODI against the Kiwis by seven wickets. While analysing the dominant performance of the left-handed opener, Sana highlighted the importance of impact in international cricket.

"We were talking off-air as well that his [Fakhar] runs are always for the team. If he scores a century, he does it at a strike-rate of 125, which is important when you are chasing a target close to 350, and not at a strike-rate of 100. That is the reason why he is crucial for this team, because where we already have players who play at run-a-ball, his role becomes crucial to chase 300 run plus targets," the former captain said.

Her comments triggered Babar's fans as they thought that the ex-cricketer was indirectly taking a dig at their favorite player.

This wasn't the first time Babar fans did this to someone as earlier former New Zealand cricketer Simon Doull suffered massive backlash for pointing out Babar on his strike rate during the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 8.

Doull had to face a lot of negative comments on social media, even he was abused in his inbox on Instagram. He also shared an abusive message which he received from one of Babar's fans.

During the second ODI, Babar scored 65 runs off 66 balls as Pakistan cruised to a comfortable win to go 2-0 up in the five-match series.
