Real Madrid suffered a major setback on Thursday after it was reported that defender David Alaba would miss two weeks of action due to injury.
According to renowned Spanish journalist Jose Luis Sanchez, Alaba has a hamstring injury but he is likely to be available for the UEFA Champions League (UCL) semi-final tie against Manchester City.
Alaba’s injury is a worrying sign for Madrid, who will be without centre-back Eder Militao in the first leg against City due to suspension.
The first and second leg of the match between City and Madrid will be played on May 9 and 17, respectively.
Madrid cruised into the Champions League semi-finals with a 2-0 win against Chelsea on Tuesday that wrapped up an emphatic 4-0 aggregate triumph, effectively ending the struggling London club´s season.
