Peshawar Zalmi's skipper Babar Azam went berserk on Quetta Gladiators' bowlers to score his maiden Pakistan Super League (PSL) century on Wednesday in Rawalpindi.
While leading his side from the front, Babar brought up his maiden century off just 60 balls. His strike-rate of 171.66 put the batter back on track against the criticism in the previous match.
After scoring his eighth T20 century overall, Babar has become second joint-most centuries scorer in the shorter format. The Pakistani skipper joined the likes of David Warner, Aaron Finch and Michael Klinger on the list.
West Indian great Chris Gayle holds the record for most centuries (22) in the T20 format.
Alongside Saim Ayub, Babar also scored the second-highest partnership in PSL. They both scored 162 runs off 81 balls. It must be noted here that Babar is involved in top three highest partnerships in PSL.
In 2021, he alongside Sharjeel Khan scored the highest partnership of 176 runs for Karachi Kings. In 2019, Babar and Livingstone scored 157 runs together which was then the highest partnership in PSL.
Fans applauded the skipper's performance on Twitter.
