Bangladesh's all-rounder Shakib Al Hassan will not be available to Peshawar Zalmi for remaining Pakistan Super League (PSL) 8 matches.

As shared by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Shakib had to leave PSL 8 halfway due to a family emergency.

"Peshawar Zalmi's Shakib Al Hasan has had to leave the squad to attend a family emergency in the United States and he has been replaced by Azmatullah Omarzai," PCB shared.

"The Bangladesh all-rounder would return to the Pakistan Super League for the Playoffs in case of Peshawar Zalmi's qualification," the statement added.

Meanwhile, Shakib also felt disappointed over leaving Zalmi squad.

"I have to temporarily leave the PSL 8 to attend an important personal matter. I know I have a strong fan-base here and I was looking forward to playing all the matches in front of all the fans," he said.

"But no need to be disappointed as I will be back at some stage during in the second half of the competition to play my part in Peshawar Zalmi’s campaign to reclaim the title,” he added.

Zalmi have won one out of two matches they have played so far in the tournament.

Shakib played his only match against Karachi Kings, where he scored just a run and went wicketless with the ball.

The closing ceremony and final of PSL 8 will be played on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.

The winner will not only lift the Supernova Trophy but will also collect a cheque of Rs120m, while the runners-up will receive a cheque of Rs48m.

Lahore Qalandars will attempt to become the first side to win back-to-back titles; meanwhile Islamabad United will aim to become the most successful side by lifting the trophy thrice.

Rawalpindi will stage 11 fixtures, Karachi and Lahore will host nine matches each, whereas Multan will have five home games.
