Former England captain Michael Vaughan bashed Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) players for not shaking hands with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) legend MS Dhoni after the match in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 at M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday.

Following the conclusion of the match, Dhoni, along with other CSK players, was waiting in line to shake hands with RCB players. However, after a long wait, the 42-year-old left without shaking hands with the opposition players.

Talking to Cricbuzz after the match, Vaughan stated that the RCB players should’ve shaken hands with the legend first as he was in the ground and waiting for them.

"If there was ever a time for a group of players to show awareness, we don't know, if that was MS Dhoni's last game and those players have run around the ground doing handstands when all they need to do is wait, 'the legend's over there. We have to just go and shake his hand," Vaughan said while speaking to Cricbuzz after the match.

The former England skipper also highlighted the “indecency” and lack of awareness of RCB players for keeping MS Dhoni waiting while they were doing their celebrations.

"You shake hands and then do your cartwheels and stuff. I wouldn't want to be an RCB player waking up tomorrow morning thinking MS Dhoni has just announced his retirement and we didn't have the decency to go and shake his hand first," Vaughan added.
