ISLAMABAD: All-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jr opened up about the invaluable guidance provided by former Pakistan pacer Mohammad Amir during his stint with the Quetta Gladiators in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) season nine.
Reflecting on his experience, Wasim Jr highlighted Amir's consistent guidance on bowling strategies. "Amir consistently guides bowling strategies, emphasising the importance of taking wickets. His confidence adds value to our bowling efforts.
"Bowling in Pakistan requires more than just pace; having skills is essential," he added.
Acknowledging the challenges of playing in the PSL as an emerging player, Wasim Jr stressed the significance of delivering standout performances in the league to secure a coveted place in the Pakistan national team.
"Delivering performances in the PSL is crucial for securing a place in the Pakistan national team for new players. The environment in Quetta Gladiators is excellent; it's a new team," he added.
Identifying himself as an all-rounder, Wasim Jr expressed his commitment to contributing in both batting and bowling.
"I consider myself as a bowling all-rounder, I try to contribute in both batting and bowling. I adapt my game according to the team's situation," he maintained.
"In addition to being fast, having variations in skills is crucial. I don't consider myself specifically a specialist in Pakistan's conditions. Skills, along with maintaining a good pace, are necessary for bowling success," he maintained.
