Australia all-rounder Ellyse Perry's massive six on Monday smashed the window of a sponsors car during the Royal Challengers Bangalore's match against UP Warriorz.
Perry notched up 58 off 37 deliveries to help her team to a 23-run victory in the Women's Premier League (WPL) at Bengaluru's M. Chinnaswamy Stadium.
The 33-year-old smacked four sixes in her knock, the last of which went over long on and broke the window of the car, which had been placed on a stage just behind the boundary rope.
Perry later joked the six may prove extremely costly for her.
"I was a bit worried, not sure I have insurance to cover me," she said "So, in a bit of strife there."
Smriti Mandhana scored a brilliant 50-bal 80 to set the platform as RCB posted a daunting 198/3 after being asked to bat first.
The bowlers then helped the hosts restrict UPW to 175/8 and win the match by 23 runs.
The Delhi leg of the event will begin today, with the home team Delhi Capitals playing their first match at the Arun Jaitley Stadium against Mumbai Indians. Like Bengaluru, matches will be hosted by Delhi every day until the final league match on 13th March.
Once the league stage is finished, the team that tops the points table will directly qualify for the final.
The Eliminator, which will be played between the second and third-placed teams in the table, will be held on Friday, 15th March. The winner of the Eliminator will secure a place in the final and will fight it out for the prestigious trophy against the top-ranked team on Sunday, 17th March.
