Australian tennis player Alex de Minaur once again asserted his dominance on the court, defeating Norwegian Casper Ruud 6-4, 6-4 in the final of the Mexican Open Acapulco, which lasted for one hour and 57 minutes.

Right from the outset, De Minaur showcased his authority, capitalising on Ruud's struggles with his serve to secure an early break and take a 2-1 lead. Maintaining his control throughout, the Australian displayed precise winners and remarkable aggression, while the Norwegian battled to find his rhythm and mount a response.

Despite the sweltering temperatures of 28°C, which seemed to affect Ruud more, De Minaur remained composed and clinched the first set 6-4 in 53 minutes, distinguished by his solid serve and assertive play. With an impressive 87% of points won on his first serve and 13 winners compared to Ruud's four, the Australian firmly established his dominance on the court.

In the second set, Ruud exhibited more resilience, breaking De Minaur's serve to take an early 2-0 lead. However, the Australian swiftly retaliated with precise returns, promptly restoring parity. He maintained pressure on Ruud, capitalising on every opportunity to secure victory.

The match reached its climax as De Minaur served to claim the set and the title. Despite Ruud's determined returns, the Australian remained steadfast and served with finesse, clinching his second consecutive Abierto Mexicano de Acapulco championship.

With this triumph, De Minaur notched his eighth title on the ATP circuit, affirming his status as one of tennis's standout players. He also joined an elite group of champions, including Thomas Muster, Nicolás Almagro, and David Ferrer, as the fourth player to achieve back-to-back victories at the Mexican Open.

In the doubles final, the Polish duo of Hugo Nys and Jan Zielinski emerged victorious over the team comprising Mexican Santiago Gonzalez and Briton Neal Skupski in a match distinguished by its intensity and emotion.
