Manchester United are plotting a shocking £150m move for Real Madrid’s star, Vinicius Junior, in the upcoming summer transfer window, reported Spanish news outlet SPORT on Wednesday.
Vinicius netted a 39-minute hat-trick against arch-rivals FC Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final on January 14 and was the centre of attention courtesy of his heroics.
The Brazilian was signed by Los Blancos in 2018 as a teenager and it has been five years since he made his debut for the club. The 23-year-old took his impressive goal contribution tally to 136 during the Cup final in Saudi Arabia.
As a result, he gathered interest from many clubs but United seem to be one willing to take a step in their pursuit of the Brazilian.
As per SPORT, the 20-time Premier League champions are willing to make an astounding £150m offer which, as per the report, Los Blancos may consider as they will, once again, try to buy Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain.
Even though Mbappe will be coming on a free transfer as his contract will run out this summer, the Frenchman will demand a heavy signing bonus and a £30m a year salary.
Given United’s startling offer, Madrid may consider selling the Brazilian who is not just their best attacker, but also their franchise player who brings millions of euros every year with his sponsorships and other contracts.
Vinicius had also been subjected to racial chants and abuse in La Liga and that could become a factor in the Brazilian’s decision to leave the club, which is very unlikely as of now.
Madrid consider Vinicius as their key player and the one for the future, and their president, Florentino Perez, has repeatedly stated that he would not sell the Brazilian for any amount. And not just that, the Brazilian, in repeated interviews, has said that Madrid is his home and he would not leave for any amount of money.
It will be interesting to see Madrid's approach towards the big-money offer should United make one.
