Kishmala qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 yesterday

Pakistan's Kishmala Talat and Gulfam Joseph clinched the bronze medal in 10m Air Pistol mixed team event of the Asian Championship in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Tuesday.

The Pakistani duo impressed one and all during the contest and beat Kazakhstan by a score of 16-8.

Kishmala and Gulfam finished in fifth place (577-18x) in the qualification stage of the event.

Yesterday, Kishmala qualified for the Paris Olympics 2024 after winning the silver medal in the 10m Air Pistol. She qualified for the prestigious event with a score of 236.3 in the final.

India’s Esha Singh and Rhythm Sangwan bagged the gold and bronze medal, respectively. Esha had a score of 243.1, meanwhile Rhythm notched up 214.5.

Kishmala also bagged a bronze medal in the Asian Games last year.

In the initial round, Kishmala scored 575 points, securing her qualification for the finals. Demonstrating remarkable skill in the final round, she competed against India's Eshs for the gold medal.

Kishmala claimed the silver medal and a quota spot in Paris Olympics 2024. She is the first ever Pakistani female athlete to directly qualify for Olympics.

Confirming Kishmala's achievement, Razi Ahmed Khan, Secretary of the Pakistan Shooting Federation, affirmed that she has successfully secured a place for the Paris Olympics 2024.

Kishmala Talat became the third Pakistani shooter to qualify for the Olympics after Gulfam Joseph and G.M. Bashir.

In addition to shooting, Arshad Nadeem has also confirmed his place in the Olympics in athletics, while equestrian athlete Usman Khan's qualification position remains stable and strong.
