The Chief Executive Officer of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, backed UFC star Conor McGregor who hinted to run for Irish presidency in the 2025 elections.

McGregor, 34, has been heavily active on X, formerly Twitter, these days, hinted about running for the President of Ireland in the 2025 elections, and his move was backed by the Tesla CEO.

“It would not be me in power as president, people of Ireland. It would be me and you," McGregor spoke candidly on social media about running in the 2025 elections. "Young, active, passionate [and would be] fresh skin in the game.”

“I listen. I support. I adapt. I have no affiliation, bias, favouritism toward any party. They would genuinely be held to account regarding the current sway of public feeling. I’d even put it all to vote. There’d be votes every week to make sure. I can fund," he added.

Musk, who also has his own beer brand in Tesla Cyberbeer, showed his support for McGregor and replied: “I think you could take them all single-handed. Not even fair.”

It must be noted that earlier, McGregor was investigated by the Irish police on account of “online hate speech” after the former lightweight champion spoke in defence of his country following far-right riots in Dublin.

The Irish capital became the victim of the worst violence in decades when hundreds of anti-migrants in the city plundered the city’s shops and fired police cars after four people, including three children, were injured in a knife attack.

According to the police, the disturbance occurred after false accusations were made about the knifeman’s identity. The suspect in custody was allegedly an Algerian immigrant who was hospitalised after he was stopped from continuing his attack on the civilians.

McGregor lashed out at the Irish government and declared that the country was at war. He also slammed the government’s immigration policies and that is what he was questioned for.

It is worth mentioning that the last time McGregor was in the octagon was during his fight against Dustin Poirier after which he spent almost two years out of action following a nasty leg break at UFC 264 in July 2021
