The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Management Committee chairman Zaka Ashraf said there are no intentions to change the current coaching staff at least till the upcoming World Cup to be held in India.

Ashraf, who will be in the PCB office till World Cup, spoke about speculations surrounding a change in the current coaching staff.

"I believe this team is performing and we should not disturb them," said Ashraf while speaking on Geo News programme, Score

"Currently, we have no intentions to change the coaching staff or players. We already discussed this with our technical committee. We will give them time as Asia Cup and World Cup are just around the corner," the PCB chief added.

Ashraf had appointed a cricket technical committee led by former captain Misbah-ul-Haq. The committee also includes former Test cricketers Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mohammad Hafeez. The committee will recommend the MC chairman on all cricket-related matters.

While talking about Asia Cup and World Cup, Ashraf said he wished that the national team wins both tournaments.

"We are trying to make a strong squad who can compete strongly in the Asia Cup and World Cup," he shared.

"I wish that our team wins Asia Cup and World Cup. It will be a proud moment for the entire nation," he concluded.

It must be noted here that Pakistan last won the Asia Cup in 2012 when Ashraf was the PCB chairman.

Pakistan will host the Asian event this year for the first time after 2008. The PCB will host the event jointly at home and in Sri Lanka. The hosts Pakistan will take on Nepal in the tournament's opener on August 30 in Multan.
