Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) has announced their 14-man squad for the upcoming Asian Volleyball Championship which will be played in Tehran, Iran, from August 19 to 26.
Pakistan team will depart a week earlier on August 11 to have some practice matches and to get used to the playing conditions in Iran, confirmed chairman Volleyball Federation Chaudhary Mohammad Yaqoob.

Mubashir Raza, Usman Faryad, Afaq Khan, Murad Jahan, Nasir Ali, Bilal Khan, Hamid Yazman, Kashif Naveed, Abdul Zaheer, Mohammad Hammad, Musawwar Khan, Murad Khan, Farooq Haider and Dayanat Ali
Brazil's Issanaye Ramires Ferraz will be the head coach of the team. Brazilian physical trainer Lucas Ferreira Rodrigues will also be with the team, apart from this, the Pakistan volleyball team will also get the services of Iranian video analyst Armin Golkari.
Pakistan is in Group F where they will play their first game against Bangladesh on August 20 and then against South Korea on August 21.
It must be noted that during the last Asian Volleyball Championship in 2022, Pakistan defeated Iran by 3-1 and won the title.
The home side won the first two sets by 16-25 and 17-25, respectively. However, Iran rallied back in the third set, winning it by 25-23.
In the fourth set, Pakistan were on song as they clinched it to register title victory.
Apart from Pakistan and Iran, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Afghanistan participated in the event.
