English club Fulham are confident to complete the signing of Chelsea’s forward Callum Hudson-Odoi on a permanent deal, reported Daily Mail on Friday.
The 22-year-old has one year left on his contract meaning he will be free to negotiate with any club in January 2024. To avoid losing him for free, Chelsea are willing to listen to all the offers for the Englishman.
As per the source, Hudson-Odoi is looking for a new club in search of regular first-team football.
The English footballer spent last season with the German club Bayer Leverkusen on loan but has now returned to London where he is most likely to participate in the pre-season with his boyhood club.
It must be noted that Chelsea, who have sold out a number of their key players, are looking forward to offloading the youngster as he is not in the plans of the new manager Mauricio Pochettino.
Chelsea have already sold important players like Kai Havertz, Mason Mount, N’golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic, Kalidou Koulibaly, Eduardo Mendy and many others.
Meanwhile, Christopher Nkunku was Pochettino’s first signing in June as a Chelsea manager as the Argentine wants the French to lead his team’s forward line.
Earlier, Chelsea expressed their unhappiness with Inter Milan’s low offer for the Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku.
Inter’s first offer for the 30-year-old was considered unacceptable by Chelsea, which was of another loan spell with an obligation to buy in 2024.
Lukaku, 30, who re-joined Chelsea from Inter for a record €100m fee, left for Inter again after a season on loan for one year.
After completing his one-year loan with the Italian Club — where he also played a UEFA Champions League final against Manchester City — he returned to the Blues on June 30.
Lukaku has had various offers from the Saudi Pro League as well but the Belgian dismissed the option to play in the Middle East as he believes that he still has much to offer in the top-flight European football.
