Pakistan and India will play their Asia Cup matches in Pallekele, Sri Lanka, sources told Geo News

Asia Cup is set to be hosted by Pakistan in two phases from August 31 to September 17, the first to take place in Lahore and the second in Sri Lanka.

For the second phase of the tournament in Sri Lanka, the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) is considering two venues as all nine matches on a single ground wouldn't be possible.

On the sidelines of the ongoing ICC meeting in Durban, Asia Cup matches venues are in discussion. Pallekele and Dambulla are the potential venues to host the Asia Cup matches, as per sources.

On the other hand, Pakistan could also host Asia Cup matches on more than one venue. Karachi and Rawalpindi can also get hosting rights for matches.

Earlier, Indian media reported that Asia Cup's schedule has been finalised. As decided, the event will take place in two countries after India refused to travel to Pakistan on political grounds.

Except for India, all four teams - Afghanistan, Sri Lanka, Afghanistan and Nepal - will play in Pakistan.
