Karachi Kings' fast bowler Mohammad Amir is likely to miss his side's clash with Multan Sultans in the ongoing eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) on Sunday.
Amir suffered a groin injury during Karachi's match against Lahore Qalandars last Sunday and could only bowl two overs.
Following the setback, the pacer's rehabilitation continued in Karachi during his time on the sidelines. He missed Karachi's clash with Multan on Wednesday, which the 2020 champions lost by three runs.
It must be noted that Karachi beat Lahore by 67 runs to secure their maiden victory in PSL 8 on Sunday.
During his side's practise session on Saturday, Amir didn't bowl but engaged in light exercise.
Amir has claimed four wickets in as many matches of the PSL 8 at an economy rate of 7.64.
Karachi will lock horns with a formidable Multan Sultans side in their sixth match of the ongoing tournament.
It is worth mentioning here that Imad Wasim's side have won only one of their last five matches and are currently sitting at the fifth position in the league table.
The closing ceremony and final of PSL 8 will be played on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.
The winner will not only lift the Supernova Trophy but will also collect a cheque of Rs120m, while the runners-up will receive a cheque of Rs48m.
Lahore Qalandars will attempt to become the first side to win back-to-back titles; meanwhile Islamabad United will aim to become the most successful side by lifting the trophy thrice.
According to the initial schedule, Rawalpindi will stage 11 fixtures, Karachi and Lahore will host nine matches each, whereas Multan will have five home games.
