KARACHI: Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan will join his side Lahore Qalandars on Monday, February 20.

Rashid will join the defending champions ahead of their third match of the ongoing eighth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) against Quetta Gladiators and will be available for selection for the fixture. The match will be played on Tuesday, February 21.

Rashid is currently leading his national side in the three-match T20I series against the United Arab Emirates (UAE). He claimed two wickets in the first match, which Afghanistan won by five wickets on Thursday.

It is worth mentioning here that the leg-spinner, Rashid, took 13 wickets in nine matches in PSL 2022.

The bowler played his last match for the Qalandars against Islamabad United on 19 February 2022 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore before leaving to join his national team for the ODI and T20I series against Bangladesh.

The Qalandars, who have only played one match so far, won their opening game of the tournament against Multan Sultans.

Put to bat first, Lahore posted a competitive target of 176 runs before restricting Multan to 174 runs in 20 overs.

After Fakhar Zaman's sensational half-century for the Qalandars, Zaman Khan defended 15 runs in the last over to win the game for his side. The left-handed batter Fakhar smashed 66 runs off 42 balls, which included three boundaries and five maximums.

The Qalandars are attempting to become the first side to win back-to-back PSL titles.

The Shaheen-led unit's next match is against Karachi Kings on Sunday, February 19.
