Real Madrid are not interested in signing Tottenham Hotspurs striker Harry Kane, Fabrizio Romano reported.

Los Blancos were linked to Kane when Cristiano Ronaldo left, and Luka Jovic was added as a long-term replacement for Karim Benzema.

Now that Benzema's fitness has been an issue for much of this season, Real Madrid's strategic planning must take this into account.

Los Blancos were reportedly once more glancing at Kane, according to Ben Jacobs.

Fabrizio Romano, in his exclusive column, clarified that this was not the case.

"Real Madrid are not working for Harry Kane as things stand, we know Bayern appreciate him, but at the moment they never had any kind of contact with Tottenham. I’m sure Antonio Conte's future will be crucial to understand Kane's future too and how conversations on the new deal will go," Romano wrote.

While Kane still has plenty of good football left in him, given Real Madrid's recent trend of signing younger stars, he would not meet the criteria. Kane will turn thirty this coming summer.
