JOHANNESBURG: The toss for the third and final ODI between Pakistan and South Africa has been delayed due to persistent rain.

Continuous drizzling since last night has left the playing conditions soggy, with forecasts predicting more rain to follow.

Pakistan leads the three-match series 2-0, having secured an 81-run victory in the second ODI.

The Men in Green posted 329 runs on the scoreboard and bowled out the Proteas for 248 in their chase.

Heinrich Klaasen was South Africa's top scorer with 97, while Shaheen Shah Afridi spearheaded Pakistan's bowling attack with impressive figures of 4/47, supported by Naseem Shah's 3/37.

Earlier, Pakistan's batting struggled initially as Abdullah Shafique fell for a duck.

However, a 115-run partnership between skipper Babar Azam (52) and Mohammad Rizwan (54) stabilized the innings.

Babar later added a fluent 73 off 95 deliveries, while Rizwan top-scored with 80 off 82 balls, hitting 10 boundaries, including three sixes.

Kamran Ghulam, batting at number six, launched a late assault, smashing 63 runs off just 32 balls, including four fours and five sixes. His explosive knock propelled Pakistan to a formidable total.

This series marks Mohammad Rizwan's third consecutive ODI series win as Pakistan captain.

He previously led his team to victories against Australia and Zimbabwe, with the win against Australia breaking a two-decade drought on their soil.
