The event will include a full marathon, a half marathon, a 10-kilometer relay race, and a 5-kilometer fun run.

Adding to the prestige of the event, the marathon has been officially approved by World Athletics, bringing international recognition to Karachi’s premier race.

During the meeting, Wahab commended the marathon for its transformative impact on Pakistan's sports landscape, highlighting the new milestones it has achieved and the introduction of AIMS-certified standards aimed at promoting healthy endurance sports throughout the country.

He expressed confidence that the 2025 Karachi Marathon would inspire greater local participation, encouraging citizens to demonstrate a spirit of dedication as they prepare for the event.

Wahab also noted that the marathon would further establish Pakistan as a leading host of prestigious international sporting events.

Following the success of the 2024 edition, the mayor praised the organisers for their excellent preparations for the upcoming race, stating, "The Karachi Marathon is not just a race; it is a tribute to the 'City of Lights.'"

He emphasized that the event brings together individuals from diverse backgrounds, uniting them in the global running community.
