KARACHI: The upcoming edition of the President’s Trophy Grade-I will run from January 8 to April 12, with all 37 matches scheduled to be played here, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday.

A total of nine teams will be participating in the departmental first-class tournament, which include Eshaal Associates, Ghani Glass, Higher Education Commission (HEC), Khan Research Laboratories (KRL), Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan Television (PTV), State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), Sui Northern Gas Pipelines (SNGPL), and Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).

The tournament will be played in nine rounds, each comprised of four matches.

After the completion of the league stage, the top two teams will qualify for the final, while the two bottom-ranked teams will be relegated to the President’s Trophy Grade-II 2024-25 tournament.

The league stage of the tournament will be played on six venues, HPC Oval Ground, KCCA Stadium, National Bank Stadium, NBP Sports Complex, SBP Sports Complex, and UBL Sports Complex. The venue for the five-day final from 8-12 April will be announced closer to the match.

SNGPL will start their title defence against PTV, while last edition’s runners-up WAPDA will begin their campaign against KRL.

The winner of the tournament will bag PKR 5 million, while the runners-up will get PKR 2.5 million.
