FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta discussed another angle of Kylian Mbappe joining Real Madrid on a free deal this summer in a conversation with Mundo Deportivo (MD).

Laporta believed that the signing of Mbappe would "distort" the club's dressing room as managing multiple players who play in the same position would not be easy.

Should Mbappe complete his move to Madrid, which seems very likely, head coach Carlo Ancelotti will have Vinicius Junior, Mbappe and Rodrygo Goes as three natural left-wingers who would prefer to operate from the left flank.

While Rodrygo is likely to keep playing as a right winger, Ancelotti will have to devise a gameplan to adjust Mbappe and Vinicius along with Jude Bellingham.

Laporta stated that with the Frenchman's signing, Madrid will have to sell a player in the future.

"They have a problem there. You have to sell a player [if Mbappe joins], right? Because they're not both going to play in the same place and they're also very strong players," Laporta told Mundo Deportivo.

"And speaking of the numbers that will be there, this distorts the locker room for sure. That's not a gift."

Remember, Mbappe is expected to complete his long-awaited move to Real Madrid in the summer after reportedly informing PSG president Nasser Al Khelaifi that he will leave the club after the end of the season as a free agent.

The Frenchman’s move to Madrid is just a matter of time now as multiple outlets have reported that the official deal will be announced as soon as final details are agreed upon between the two sides.

It must be noted that Madrid have been trying to sign Mbappe since his AS Monaco days in 2017-18 but the player decided to join PSG on a €180 million deal.

The deal was likely to happen last summer after the 25-year-old sent a letter to the French club saying that he would not extend his contract till 2025.
