Andy Murray, a five-time finalist in Melbourne, is set to begin his Australian Open campaign by taking on 30th seed Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the opening round of the men's singles.

The 36-year-old indicated that this season might be his last on the tour, so he'll be keen to put up a strong performance and enhance his recent Grand Slam record.

If Murray advances to the third round, a potential clash with defending champion Novak Djokovic awaits, making it a standout fixture in the early rounds.

Djokovic begins his pursuit for an 11th Australian Open title against a qualifier or lucky loser. The Serbian recently faced challenges with his wrist, losing to Alex de Minaur in the United Cup, but he assured that he would be fully fit for the start of his defence in Melbourne.

In other matchups, Carlos Alcaraz is paired against France’s Richard Gasquet, providing an intriguing contest. Men’s third seed Daniil Medvedev is set to face a qualifier.

Among the British players, Cameron Norrie will compete against Peru’s Juan Pablo Varillas, Dan Evans will face Italy’s Lorenzo Sonego, and Jack Draper will take on America’s Marcos Giron.

Women's draw

Women’s world No. 1 Iga Swiatek faces a challenging draw, commencing her title bid against 2020 champion Sofia Kenin, with a potential second-round clash against another former champion, Angelique Kerber.

Naomi Osaka, making her Grand Slam return after giving birth, has a tough opening match against 16th seed Caroline Garcia.

2018 champion Caroline Wozniacki is paired with 20th seed Magda Linette, while third seed Elena Rybakina is scheduled to face former world No. 1 Karolina Pliskova.

Defending champion Aryna Sabalenka will open against a qualifier and could potentially meet Ons Jabeur in the quarter-finals.

US Open champion Coco Gauff faces Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova.

Emma Raducanu is making her Grand Slam comeback at the Australian Open, starting against American Shelby Rogers. If the Brit progresses, she could face either China’s Wang Yafan or Romania’s Sorana Cirstea before a potential third-round clash with British No. 1 Katie Boulter.
