Unbeaten India defeated the Netherlands by 160 runs in the 45th match of the ICC World Cup 2023 at the M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru, on Sunday to give their inch-perfect group-stage run a flawless ending.

The Men in Blue topped the World Cup points table with 18 points as they won nine out of nine matches.

All teams have played nine matches in the World Cup so far and the group stage round has ended with India remaining on top of the points table with 18 out of 18 points.

The home side showcased a dominant performance overall in the mega event and won every match convincingly.

South Africa and Australia had the same points (14) but the Proteas finished above the Aussies due to their sparkling 1.261 net run rate (NRR) as compared to Pat Cummins' side's 0.841.

New Zealand finished fourth with 10 points after beating Sri Lanka in their last round-robin match.

The four sides will compete in the World Cup semi-final after which the winning sides will give their all on November 19 to become the world champions.

On the other hand, teams ranked from fifth to eighth qualified for the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy which will be held in Pakistan.

Sri Lanka and the Netherlands missed out on qualification for the next ICC 50-over tournament as they were the bottom two teams.

The first semi-final of the World Cup will see Rohit Sharma's side taking on Kane Willaimson's New Zealand at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai, on Wednesday, November 15.

The second semi-final will be held the following day, with South Africa and Australia to battle for a place in the final on Thursday, November 16 at Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

The World Cup final will be held at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday, 19th November, where more than 100,000 fans are expected to attend for the climax of the 13th edition of the tournament.

Semi-final 2: South Africa vs Australia, Thursday 16th November, Eden Gardens, Kolkata
