Cristiano Ronaldo scored once again and secured Al-Nassr’s place in the final of the Arab Club Champions Cup at Prince Sultan bin Abdul Aziz Stadium on Wednesday.
Ronaldo, 38, continued his amazing form and scored a 75th-minute penalty by sending the opponent goalkeeper the wrong way.
The five-time Ballon d’Or keeps on proving why he is regarded as the greatest goal-scorer football has ever seen by still going strong at the age of 38.
Ronaldo scored in the 31st minute during half-time but his goal was ruled offside. But he did what he is known for, the Portuguese followed his never giving up mentality and eventually found the back of the net with a penalty, taking his club goal tally to 719.
With four goals in four games, Ronaldo is now the top scorer of the Champions Cup.
Al-Nassr will play the winner of the semi-final between Al-Hilal and Al-Shabab in the cup’s final on August 12.
Earlier on Sunday (August 6), Ronaldo scored a left-footed banger in a 3-1 win against Raja CV.
Meanwhile, on August 3, Ronaldo scored an 87th-minute equalizer goal against Zamalek in the last group stage match and ensured his team’s entry into the quarters.
Al-Nassr needed one point to qualify for the knockout stages. They were trailing by one goal after conceding a 53rd-minute penalty. At one point it seemed like Al-Nassr’s journey in the competition will come to an end that’s when Ronaldo jumped in the air and scored a fantastic header which ended Zamalek’s hopes of playing the knockout stage matches.
Ronaldo now has a great attacking partner in Sadio Mane, a UEFA Champions League (UCL) winner. In midfield, he has Marcelo Brozovic, who played UCL final last year with Inter Milan and the former Newcastle midfielder Seko Fofana.
In defence, Ronaldo combines with his former Manchester United teammate Alex Telles on the left flank.
