Former Indian cricketer Yuvraj Singh thinks India's middle-order batting is not strong enough to help his country win World Cup for the third time this year.
In a YouTube interview, Singh said injuries of India's main players will haunt them in the mega event.
"I am not sure that India is gonna [going to] win the World Cup. Being a patriot, I can say India will win. But, I see a lot of concerns in the middle-order batting of the Indian team, especially because of injuries,
"Rishabh, KL and Shreyar, three of our main batters are injured. I see a big concern over there. If that concern is not fulfilled, we are going to suffer in pressure games, Don't experiment in pressure games," he explained.
As reported by the Indian media, BCCI, in the last fitness update, had said that Rahul and Shreyas are undergoing rehab from thigh and lower back injuries. They had ‘begun batting at the NCA nets' and were ‘undergoing strength and fitness drills’.
Meanwhile, Pant is still recovering from his injuries following a horrific accident last year.
Indian squad will be led by Rohit Sharma when they come to the Asia Cup in early September in Sri Lanka. They are scheduled to play their first match against Pakistan on September 2 in Kandy.
Later on, they will play the ODI series against Australia at home before kicking off their World Cup campaign against the same team on October 8 in Chennai.
