Shawaiz Irfan scored a magnificent half-century to help Pakistan Shaheens win their third consecutive match in the ongoing Top End T20 series in Australia today.
Shaheens set a 170-run target for Melbourne Stars who fell 44 runs short. Harry Dixon fought hard for his team as the batter scored 32 runs off 14 balls including five boundaries and a six,
Arjun Nair made 31 including a maximum but couldn't finish the chase for his team.
Chinaman Faisal Akram bagged two wickets while Sajjad Ali, Aaliyan Mahmood, and Arafat Minhas took a wicket each.
Earlier, Shawaiz scored 65 runs to help Shaheens score 169 runs for the loss of six wickets. Opening batter Shamyl Hussain contributed 25 runs followed by Wahaj Riaz's 28.
For Stars, Reiley Mark and Arjun Nair bagged two wickets each.
Shaheens will face PNG in their last league game on August 4. If they win the last game, they will play the final on August 6.
It must be noted here that after T20 series, Shaheens will be playing two one-day matches against PNG and NT Strike.
