"Is that a bird or a plane?? No that is Joe Root." The English batter stunned Marnus Labuschagne after taking a stunning catch on day two of the last Ashes Test at The Oval on Friday.
Mark Wood had pace and bounce in his delivery which edged Labuschagne's bat and went faster away from the first slip but Root dived on his left to take a brilliant catch.
The stunning catch gained massive attention on social media with fans calling it one of the best catches taken by the cricketer. Labuschagne had to walk off after scoring just nine runs off 82 balls.
Australia walked out at Lunch with 115-2 in 51 overs on the scoreboard. Opening batter Usman Khawaja was batting brilliantly on 47 from 152 balls. Steve Smith was accompanying him at 13 not-out.
It must be noted here that Australia retained Ashes Test series title after the fourth Test ended in a draw. England would almost certainly have beaten Australia in the fourth test to arrive at The Oval 2-2 but not a single ball was bowled as the rain poured down on the last day.
