Saudi club Al-Hilal have officially submitted a massive €300m bid for Paris Saint Germain’s (PSG) forward Kylian Mbappe, international media reported Monday.
PSG have decided to let the 24-year-old go this summer because they do not want to lose him for free next year as the player has already announced that he will not renew his contract with the club.
The offer from the Saudi is too tempting, making it impossible to reject. It would not only give Mbappe €700m for one year, but it will also allow the 24-year-old join Real Madrid for free in 2024.
However, as per multiple reports, Mbappe only wants to leave PSG for Real Madrid and he has no intention to play outside of Europe at the age of 24.
But, if the deal goes through, it will make Mbappe the most expensive signing ever. Breaking the current world transfer record, of €200m, which was set by PSG when they signed Neymar Jr. from Barcelona in 2018.
However, Al-Hilal — who signed Ruben Neves from Wolves — is not the only team after the Frenchman. Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspurs, Chelsea and FC Barcelona are the teams who want to sign the 24-year-old.
As per reports from Spain, it is even stated that Barcelona’s representatives are all set to hold talks with the French club for Mbappe.
At this point, it is clear that PSG have made up their mind that they want to sell Mbappe this summer as the footballer has made it clear that he will not renew till 2025.
To push him out of the club, the French club has already gone to extremes. On Friday (July 21), Mbappe was excluded from the club’s squad for their Asian pre-season tour.
PSG did not only exclude Mbappe from the pre-season squad, they have also decided to send him to train with discarded players, players who are no longer part of the project.
Those players include Julian Draxler, Georginio Wijnaldum, Leandro Paredes, Abdou Diallo and Colin Dagba.
Amidst all the chaos, Madrid — who have been after Mbappe since 2018 — are yet to make a move.
