Pakistani pacer Zaman Khan proved once again why he is considered the 'last over specialist' during the match between Toronto Nationals (TN) and Vancouver Knights (VK) in Global T20 Canada on Friday.
Playing for TN, Zaman was given the assignment to defend 13 runs in the last over against the South African explosive batter Rassie van der Dussen.
Dussen is considered one of the best T20 players in the world, but could not do much against Zaman Khan’s resilience.
The pacer started his over allowing Fabian Allen to only take a single. Zaman bowled two dot balls to Dussen and then got him out on the last ball, ending his amazing over with only three runs conceded, helping his team register their first win of the tournament.
TN won the game by nine runs while Zaman ended his amazing spell with 27 runs conceded in three overs while taking a wicket.
Meanwhile, TN, who batted first, posted 151 in 20 overs. Colin Munro remained the top-scorer for his team with 78 off 45 courtesy of 12 boundaries.
Meanwhile, former Pakistani cricketer, Shahid Afridi had a short but entertaining cameo where Boom Boom scored 23 off 12 with two fours and two sixes and ended with a strike rate of 191.66, proving that he has still got it.
Earlier today, Pakistan middle-order batter Azam Khan shined during the opening match of Global T20 Canada in Brampton.
The explosive right-hander scored 65 runs in 55 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes, while playing for Mississauga Panthers against Brampton Wolves.
Mississauga’s captain and former Pakistan all-rounder, Shoaib Malik, could only score one run with the bat. He also conceded 34 runs in two overs with nothing to show for in the wickets column.
