Day two of the third Ashes Test has ended with Australia scoring 116-4 at stumps in Leeds.

Travis Head (18) and Mitchell Marsh (17) will resume batting for the Aussies on day three.

Australia currently lead by 142 runs in their second innings.

Earlier on day two, England were all out for 237 runs in their first innings.

The Englishmen, who resumed their batting at 68-3 on day two, could not stand for long against the fierce bowling attack of the Aussies.

Australian skipper Pat Cummins did not let English batters stand on the crease for long as he took six wickets, removing key players like Ben Duckett, Harry Brook, and Joe Root, who lost his wicket to the Australian for the 10th time in Test cricket.

However, in all the chaos, English skipper Ben Stokes — who single-handedly carried the English team in the second Test to an almost-victory while chasing as he scored 155 runs — once again stood for his team and saved the day for England after scoring 80 off 108 balls with 11 boundaries.

The English hero of the first inning Mark Wood, who took five wickets with some of the quickest deliveries, played an exceptional knock of 24 off just eight deliveries, hitting three sixes and a four in his short but impactful cameo.

Stokes stayed till the very end and batted with tailenders for the major part of his batting and managed to drag his team to a decent total of 237.

Australia started their final inning with a 26-run lead but were largely tested by the English bowling attack.

David Warner was removed by Stuart Broad for the record 17th time in Test cricket. Steve Smith also failed to score runs into double digits before felling prey to Moeen Ali.

With four wickets already lost, and no more than actual two batters still to bat for the Aussies, tomorrow may turn out to be an entertaining day for Test cricket.
