Bangladesh A beat Pakistan A by six runs to qualify for the final of the ACC Women’s Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2023 at the Tin Kwong Road Recreation Ground in Hong Kong.
In a rain-hit semi-final contest, Bangladesh A scored 59-7 in reduced nine overs. Pakistani bowlers did really well in the start as Bangladesh's top six batters couldn't even enter double figures.
But, Rabeya Khan (10*) and Nahida Akter (21) rescued Bangladesh A as they both scored 40 runs together. Their partnership helped Bangladesh A post a defendable total.
Pakistan A's skipper Fatima Sana picked up three wickets while Anosha Nasir bagged two.
In reply, Pakistan A's opener Eyman Fatima provided a quick start to her team but later on batters fell short of the target. Eyman scored 18 including two boundaries a maximum.
A couple of quick wickets in the middle put pressure on Pakistan A as they lost complete control. Skipper Fatima promoted herself in the batting order but she also couldn't get her team over the victory line. She could stitch only 10 off eight balls. Pakistan A's final scoreline read 53-4 after nine overs.
For Bangladesh A, Rabeya took two wickets while Marufa Akter and Nahida Akter shared a wicket apiece.
Bangladesh A will now take India A in the Asian event's final tomorrow [June 21] at the same venue.
