Day four of the first Ashes Test has concluded with Australia scoring 107-3 in 30 overs on Monday.

The Aussies need 174 runs to grab a victory on the final day of the first Test.

Usman Khawaja (34) and Scott Boland (13) will resume the batting for Australia on the fifth day.

Australia lost three early wickets within 30 overs as David Warner fell prey to Ollie Robinson after scoring 36 off 57 with four boundaries.

England’s biggest victory in the last session came due to Stuart Broad’s masterclass as the pacer removed two of Australia’s powerhouses in Marnus Labuschagne, the number one player in Test rankings, and Steve Smith for just 13 and six runs respectively.

The Australian skipper decided to send the pacer Scott Boland as nightwatchman to bat at no. 5 over Travis Head.

Earlier, England were all-out for 273 runs in their second inning on day four.

Cummins and Nathan Lyon caused havoc for the English batters as both of them bagged four wickets each.

Joe Root, who resumed the batting for England on the day along with Ollie Pope, went back to the pavilion after scoring 46 runs.

It must be noted that Root scored 11,168 runs in Test cricket before finally being stumped in a Test for the first time.

Australia were all-out for 386 runs in their first innings on day three after the English skipper Ben Stokes took the cricket world by surprise as he declared the innings at 393-8 with ton-up Joe Root still on the crease on day one.

Joe Root remained unbeaten as he scored 118 runs courtesy of seven fours and four sixes.
