An Indian bowler named Abhishek Tanwar conceded 18 runs off the last ball of his over to register an unwanted record on his name.

According to the Indian media, Tanwar, who was leading Salem Spartans in Tamil Nadu Premier League (TNPL), conceded 18 runs off the last ball of the first innings against Chepauk side.

Tanwar started off with a no-ball which resulted in a single. It was followed by another no-ball on the free-hit which was smashed for a six, bringing 9 runs off the delivery. On the next free hit, he again bowled a no-ball which was hit for 3 runs, it was followed by a wide off the next free-hit and finally, he conceded a six off the free-hit to end the remarkable over.

Due to his expensive last ball, Chepauk could score 217-5 in 20 overs. In reply, Spartans were restricted to 165-9.

After the match, Tanwar took the blame on himself. "I have to take the blame for the last over - bowling four no-balls being a senior bowler was disappointing. The wind did not help as it played a huge role," he said.

Tanwar's last delivery was the second-most expensive ball in T20 cricket.

In the Big Bash League 2013-14 season, Travis Birt had smashed Clint McKay for 20 runs off one ball. In ODIs, India’s Virender Sehwag smashed Pakistani pacer Rana Naved-ul-Hasan for 17 runs off one ball.
