Pakistan's left-handed opening batter Shan Masood is excited to start a new journey with Yorkshire County Club in Vitality Blast today.
Masood, who previously played for Derbyshire for two years, is all set to lead Yorkshire in Vitality Blast today after he led them in a four-day match this season.
Yorkshire will play against Warwickshire in their first match today in Birmingham.
Taking to Twitter, Masood expressed excitement for representing Yorkshire in the T20 competition.
"Really enjoyed my welcome here at Yorkshire. Feels great to be part of such a prestigious club. Looking forward to a strong season together starting with the Vitality Blast tomorrow," he wrote.
After getting free from the home ODI series against New Zealand, Masood traveled to England to play County cricket.
In the ODI series against the Kiwis, Masood scored 52 runs in three matches with a highest score of 44. He played as an opener in the last two ODIs.
Last year, Yorkshire's coach Ottis Gibson announced Masood as their captain for the county championship 2023.
Gibson had told the media that the Pakistani batter, who previously played for Derbyshire on a two-year contract, will captain the county across all tournaments the next summer.
