The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) shared a video on their social media accounts on Monday showing some of the on-field moments of the legendary Aleem Dar.
Dar, aged 54, is recognised as one of the greatest umpires in the history of cricket. He debuted as an umpire on February 16, 2000 in an ODI contest between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Gujranwala stadium.
The PCB posted a video on their social media accounts where they showed Dar's humorous side. Dar can be seen having fun moments with Pakistani players during international matches as well as in Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Dar bagged umpire of the year award in three consecutive years (2009-11), ending the streak of the Australian umpire Simon Taufel who bagged the accolade during the previous five years.
The Pakistani umpire's prominent performance was in the ICC World Cup 2011 where none of his decision went wrong.
He served in 145 Tests and 227 ODIs and 70 T20Is, second-most among the umpires.
In March, Dar stepped down from ICC's elite-panel of umpires after his long 19-year career. His last assignment as an elite-panel umpire was a Test between Bangladesh and Ireland, which ended in a victory for Bangladesh. At the end of the match, he was given a guard of honour from both teams and his fellow umpires.
Later on, he was named in the ICC international panel of umpires.
