PSL 8: Hasnain upbeat to win the title for Quetta

The tournament begins on February 13

Quetta Gladiators will take on Multan Sultans in their opening clash of the PSL 8 — PSL

Quetta Gladiators' pace ace Mohammad Hasnain has set his eyes on winning Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight for his side.

In an exclusive interview with Geo.tv, Hasnain said: "The goal in PSL is to become the number one bowler and win the trophy for Quetta. I have worked hard and practiced well, even during the tour with the national team. The time has come to use the preparations that have been made."

It is worth mentioning here that Hasnain was banned from playing international cricket after his bowling action was declared illegal following an objection in the Australian Big Bash League (BBL) in January last year.

However, despite the major setback, the young star worked hard and amended his bowling standard.

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) also appointed a bowling consultant who worked with Hasnain to correct his bowling action.

"My bowling has improved a lot and getting better day by day. Pakistan Super League is a good opportunity for everyone to get attention. I will give this opportunity to young bowlers to give their 100 percent here," he said.

The pacer also lauded Sarfaraz Ahmed's captaincy.

"The team is playing quite well compared to last year. I enjoy Sarfaraz's captaincy. He is very encouraging and leads the team with his heart," he concluded.

In a practice match before PSL 8, Quetta Gladiators will lock horns with Karachi Kings at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi on February 11.

The Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side will kick off their PSL campaign against 2022 runners-up Multan Sultans at the Multan Cricket Stadium on February 15.

The opening ceremony of PSL 8 will be held in Multan on February 13 prior to the tournament opener between 2021 winners Multan Sultans and defending champions Lahore Qalandars; meanwhile, the closing ceremony and final will be played on March 19 in Lahore, which will also host play-offs.

Rawalpindi will stage 11 fixtures, Karachi and Lahore will host nine matches each, whereas Multan will have five home games.
