KARACHI: Afghanistan’s right-arm pacer Naveen-ul-Haq on Sunday, announced to withdraw from the highly-anticipated Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, scheduled to be played in the April-May window this year.
Taking to his Instagram story, Naveen shared a picture of him with wicketkeeper batter Mohammad Haris during his time with Peshawar Zalmi in the previous edition of the league and shared that he will not be taking part in the forthcoming season.
“Wonderful last season with [Peshawar Zalmi]. Won’t be taking part in this year’s [PSL]. Until next time, thanks for all the love and support,” Naveen captioned the picture.
For the unversed, Naveen was among the 44 foreign players in platinum category, unveiled by the marquee league.
Naveen-ul-Haq has featured in two PSL seasons, representing Quetta Gladiators and Zalmi in 2023 and 2024, respectively.
In 10 matches, the 25-year-old has picked up 13 wickets at an average of 28.53 with the best bowling figures of 2/22 and an economy rate of 9.76.
Notably, the highly-anticipated PSL 10 player draft will take place at Huzuri Bagh here on Monday as the six franchise aim to finalise their squads for the upcoming season.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) unveiled a revised pick order for the PSL 10 draft.
The previous three Platinum categories have been consolidated into two, while the number of Diamond categories has been reduced from three to one.
Additionally, the Gold categories have been trimmed from three to two, and the Silver categories have been reduced from five to three.
In terms of draft pick order, Lahore Qalandars have secured the first pick in the Platinum 1 category, followed by Karachi Kings, Quetta Gladiators, Peshawar Zalmi, Multan Sultans, and Islamabad United.
Meanwhile, Quetta Gladiators will kick off the Platinum 2 category with the first pick, followed by Karachi Kings.
