Indian Premier League (IPL) side Kolkata Knight Riders’ (KKR) co-owner Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) revealed that India’s Virat Kohli is a “damaad” to the Bollywood fraternity due to his relation with Anushka Sharma.
Kohli married Anushka in a private ceremony in Italy in December 2017 and are enjoying their life together. They also have two children, a girl and a boy named Vamika and Akaay respectively.
SRK has been active in cricket these days as he is often seen in the stadiums where his side KKR is playing in the IPL 2024. He was most recently seen during a KKR practice session along with his side where the two enjoyed playing cricket with players.
SRK opened up on his bond with Kohli sharing that he just “loves” him and has been in touch with him ever since he started dating Anushka, who was working with Khan on a Bollywood movie at that time.
"I spent a lot of time with him, I just love him. We say that he is our son-in-law, he is our fraternity's ‘daamad’. I have known him the most compared to other players. I have known Virat and Anushka for a long time, spent a lot of time with them,” SRK said in a conversation with Star Sports.
The King Khan then added that he taught Kohli the dance steps of his most recent film “Pathan” after he saw him performing the steps poorly with Ravindra Jadeja.
"So, I taught him (Virat Kohli) the Pathan dance steps. I saw him during one of India's matches. He attempted to dance with Ravindra Jadeja throughout the match. They were trying to perform that dance step. I was quite disappointed with how poorly they were performing. I told them to let me teach them the steps."
Remember, Kohli and Anushka Sharma got married in 2017. The celebrity couple marked their daughter Vamika's third birthday on 11th January 2024.
Notably, in 2021, Kohli prioritised family as the then-captain returned home after the first match of a four-Test series against Australia to be with his wife during the birth of their first child.
