West Indies women’s cricket team defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in the second match of the five-match T20I series at the National Bank Stadium, Karachi, on Sunday.
The visitors chased down 122-run target for the loss of three wickets in the 19th over.
West Indies' captain Hayley Matthews was the main difference as she bagged three wickets and scored 58 runs too.
The chase started with Qiana Joseph and Matthews scoring 21 runs for the first wicket before Diana Baig removed Joseph in the fourth over.
Matthews was joined by Shemaine Campbelle posted 67 for the second wicket which took the game away completely from Pakistan.
Matthews was the second player to fall for the visitors in the 13th over. She made 43-ball 58 with the help of ten fours.
Campbelle was dismissed soon after in the 15th over. She made 21 runs off 29 balls. Chedean Nation and Chinelle Henry remained not out and steered West Indies through the chase by scoring 17 and 8 respectively.
Pakistan managed to score 121/7 after opting to bat first. Muneeba Ali was the best batter for the hosts, scoring 55 off 47 balls.
No major contribution came from the other batters. Openers Gul Feroza and Sidra Ameen made 14 and 10 respectively.
Skipper Nida Dar also managed to add 13 off 14 balls. No other batters managed to enter in double figures.
Matthews was the top bowler, claiming 3/26 while Chinelle Henry, Karishma Ramharack and Afy Fletcher took one wicket apiece.
The series is being broadcast live on Pakistan’s first sports channel Geo Super.
