His partnership with Carlos Sainz will come to an end if Hamilton's move to Ferrari materialises - F1

Charles Leclerc has already expressed his sentiments regarding having Lewis Hamilton as his teammate at Ferrari.

This isn't the first occasion the seven-time world champion has been associated with a move to the Scuderia. However, amidst past speculations, it appears that this time the prediction is poised to materialise.

Hamilton has not yet formalised an agreement to join Ferrari in 2025. But, confirmation of the deal is anticipated shortly, as the Briton is finally prepared to depart from Mercedes in pursuit of an eighth F1 title before retirement.

The most recent connection with the move occurred last year, albeit without fruition. During that period, amid intense speculation, Leclerc was questioned by reporters regarding his thoughts on competing against Hamilton within the same team.

The Monegasque affirmed that he would be pleased to welcome Hamilton to Ferrari."If I say yes, I imagine it being the title of every newspaper," he joked, before giving his real answer to the question.

"Lewis is such an incredible driver, has achieved so much in the sport, so I think anybody on the grid would love to have Lewis as a team-mate, as everybody would learn a lot from him. But again, I'm happy where I am, and with Carlos [Sainz] it's a great relationship too."

That partnership he has with Sainz will come to an end if Hamilton's move to Ferrari materialises. Leclerc signed a contract extension with the team last month, indicating that it will indeed be the Spaniard who loses his place to accommodate the Mercedes star.

Meanwhile, it remains to be seen what decision Mercedes will make regarding their own driver lineup. Teenager Andrea Kimi Antonelli is a promising prospect that many people are talking about, but 2025 will likely be too early for a 17-year-old, who has yet to race even at the F2 level, to be placed into one of the top seats on the F1 grid.
